Partner With Nukhufest

Bring resources, ideas, audiences, and experiences into independent film.

Ways To Participate

There isn't one kind of partner.

Nukhufest brings together filmmakers, audiences, cultural organizations, educators, brands, community groups, artists, and supporters across a year-long festival ecosystem.

Some partners want to reach an audience. Some want to lead a conversation. Some bring people into the room. Others make it possible for filmmakers to travel, learn, create, screen, or connect.

Start with the path that best matches what you want to contribute. If your idea does not fit neatly into one category, that is completely fine.

Bring Us Something New

Some of the most useful collaborations do not begin as a sponsorship package or a panel proposal. If you see a way your organization, expertise, network, space, product, or resources can create meaningful value, tell us.

ONE IMPORTANT DISTINCTION Partnership does not mean editorial control.

Commercial sponsorship, community collaboration, and festival programming are separate processes. Sponsoring Nukhufest does not determine which films screen, who wins an award, or which panel proposals are accepted.

Program proposals are evaluated for their editorial and audience value. Commercial visibility and charitable or in-kind support are documented separately when appropriate.

Have another way to work together?

Use the partnership inquiry below. Tell us who you are, what you would like to contribute or build, and what you hope the collaboration can accomplish.

A Useful Partnership

The best collaborations create value in more than one direction.

Nukhufest is not looking for logos without purpose or partnerships built only around access. The strongest relationships improve the experience for filmmakers or audiences while creating a meaningful outcome for the participating organization.

FOR FILMMAKERS

More resources and opportunity.

Exhibition, education, travel, tools, visibility, community, professional connections, and practical resources can help filmmakers keep moving after a single screening.

FOR AUDIENCES

A richer reason to participate.

Strong programs, thoughtful conversations, accessible events, new discoveries, and useful experiences can turn attendance into a deeper relationship with independent film.

FOR PARTNERS

A role people can understand.

Whether your goal is visibility, community engagement, education, cultural participation, filmmaker support, or a new creative experiment, the partnership should have a clearly defined purpose.

Partnership Window

Nukhufest is larger than one week in July.

Films, filmmakers, audiences, and community activity move through the ecosystem over many months. Different partnership types can make sense at different moments.

Build early.

Community relationships, sponsorship planning, filmmaker resources, educational collaborations, and program concepts can begin well before the theatrical schedule is finalized.

Programs become public.

Screening blocks, filmmakers, panels, workshops, guests, partnerships, and promotional opportunities begin taking visible shape ahead of festival week.

Gather in New York.

Nukhufest takes over Cinema Village Theater #1 for screenings, filmmaker conversations, workshops, panels, and special programs.

Keep the relationship moving.

Streaming premieres, audience discovery, voting, digital activity, and the November Awards Ball extend the season beyond the theatrical festival.

How We Work Together

Clear roles protect the work.

01 / EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE

Sponsorship does not buy programming decisions.

Film selection, panel selection, jury decisions, and audience voting remain independent of commercial sponsorship.

02 / PROGRAM QUALITY

A proposal is not automatically a program.

Panel, workshop, and presentation ideas are reviewed for relevance, feasibility, speaker quality, audience value, schedule availability, and fit within the festival.

03 / CLEAR AGREEMENTS

Different relationships require different scopes.

Paid advertising, sponsorship, charitable support, in-kind resources, programming, and co-promotion may require different agreements, approvals, and financial treatment.

04 / MUTUAL VALUE

Participation should make sense for everyone involved.

We look for partnerships that serve a real purpose for the filmmaker, audience, festival, participating organization, or ideally several of them at once.

Partnership FAQ

Before you reach out.

Does my organization need a sponsorship budget to partner? +

No. Commercial sponsorship is one path, but Nukhufest also works with community groups, educational institutions, cultural organizations, filmmakers, speakers, service providers, and organizations contributing useful in-kind resources or other forms of collaboration.

Can a sponsor also propose a panel or workshop? +

Yes, but the processes remain separate. A commercial relationship does not guarantee acceptance of a program proposal. Programming is evaluated for editorial relevance, audience value, feasibility, and available schedule space.

Can our organization support filmmakers without advertising? +

Yes. Travel, accommodations, equipment, technology, transportation, hospitality, professional services, grants, and other useful resources may be considered separately from commercial advertising inventory.

Can community partners help promote a specific program? +

Yes. When there is a genuine connection between an organization and a film, topic, community, or program, Nukhufest may coordinate appropriate co-promotion, outreach, audience development, or community participation.

Can we propose something that Nukhufest has never done before? +

Absolutely. Use the general partnership inquiry to explain the idea, what your organization can contribute, who it would serve, and what would be required to make it happen.

Are partnership inquiries automatically accepted? +

No. All partnerships remain subject to mission fit, scheduling, capacity, venue restrictions, available resources, appropriate agreements, and final approval.
